Catch up...because maybe broken toe
While Marc goes to see Anastasia with friends from Marble Falls and Austin, I am here in bed with what is starting to look more and more like a broken toe.
If it is, I did it well over a week ago and have been hobbling around on it which is probably why it still hurts. Happened on its own do not remember any trauma. So Anastasia and Maya...,I wish I could get across to you all how incredibly special this whole experience with being a producer on the Broadway show Anastasia has been for us. Every single person we come in contact with has been a plus in our lives.
This one adventure is leading us into more productions and some thrilling theatre. It has also made me even prouder of what I see happening at Zach.
Anyway, of the three shows Maya saw while she was here Anastasia was her favorite. And why not, especially when we took her back stage to meet Christie, Derek, and John who treated her like she was Anastasia. Derek took her on stage, John fussed over her and Christie spent an inordinate amount of time with her in her dressing room pulling out dresses and tiaras and showing her all the things she’s been given by fans. Maya was duly impressed. Everyone in the show is stellar but these three who are so hooked together in the show are also my favorites. I refer to them as the Three Musketeers. They are down to earth, sweet and lovely and do not take their immense talent for granted.
Years ago when I lived in Manhattan a fellow I dated took me to see a movie called Nicholas and Alexandra about the Romanovs. I immediately bought the Robert Massie book and devoured it and that led to a collection of Russian pieces. This same guy gave me my first Russian lacquer box, my first matryoshka doll,
My first onion dome carving and 8 antique Russian post cards which I came across before we left this time for NY. The minute I found them again in my Memories boxes I knew they now belonged to Christie so I brought them and gifted them to her. Somehow in my mind they have come full circle over a hundred years later.
This was also the same night I did something to my foot and Maya came to realize that Grandma did not stear her wrong about how good looking Derek is even a 9 year old could appreciate handsome.
